What is a cielo rojo?A cielo rojo is made with a beer of your choice (light or dark) mixed with clamato juice, loads of fresh lime juice, ice and sauces and spices like worcheshire, maggi, soya sauce, tabasco, salt and pepper. This drink is then topped with fresh boiled shrimp and vegetables like cucumber, mango and jicama. Some businesses drench the veggies with a chamoy sauce which is not too spicy but adds an amazing zing to the experience. Chamoy is usually apricots packed in salt and spices, aged and then the juices flow out and this is the sauce. The cielo rojo glass is usually rimmed with spices and salt.
What is a michelada?A michelada is a beer of your choice paired with loads of fresh lemon and ice. The glass must be rimmed with salt. It is the perfect refreshing drink during the summer.
